The project for the Clayson Residence in Golden Point, Ballarat involved the design of both front garden and back garden (converting an existing pool area into a pond and outdoor living space). The client wanted the use of water-wise, but decorative native plants and these were selected for both front and back garden designs with the west facing front garden having more robust, low level plants and a few feature trees such as Xanthorrea australis and Eucalyptus caesia ‘Silver Princess’ as areas of focus. The construction of the front garden also included the laying of timber decking paths within scoria topped beds, oversetting the traditional white architecture of the house.
