Ronald E Gray Reserve Playspace

Ronald E Gray Reserve is a City of Whitehorse playspace renewal project in the outer eastern suburb of Nunawading. Set in a bushland reserve, the design for the RE Gray Reserve Playspace drew on past history as a flora conservation reserve and fruit growing area, using bugs as its central theme.

The design connects the existing pedestrian path and picnic shelter with each other and the playspace through a snaking spine path. Incorporating standard equipment for play, as well as bespoke nature play elements and artwork such as bronze beetles and bug magnifiers. RE Gray is a design for inspiration and enjoyment all in one small package.

The project was design and documented in 2017 and is due to be constructed in early 2018.
